Doer of artsy things, helper of people, lover of animals
I've been drawing since my little hands could hold an oversized crayon. I'd draw everything from the trees in our yard to copying drawings of birds I saw on Kleenex boxes, but it took me a long time before I ever felt comfortable referring to myself as an artist. I never took any formal classes until I turned 30 and decided that my desire to learn outweighed my fear of being critiqued. And lo and behold, the critiques are what made me get better. Funny how that works sometimes...
My grandpa was an amazing artist whose full time job was to mix paint colors by eye for a large paint manufacturer. My mom did rosemaling, sewed most of our clothes and taught me how to crochet when I was 5 years old. To say I've been greatly influenced by their legacy would be an understatement.
Jenaissance Art is an eclectic mix of my passions reflected in a variety of mediums from photography to handcrafted artwork. I'm happiest when I'm creating and learning new things. My biggest inspirations are from nature and traveling as much as I can. I get excited when I see new techniques and appreciate other artists who have a fresh eye on the world.
